Joshua Bell is one of those rare classical musicians whose talent, charisma, and star power have made him popular with even non-classical audiences. For Bell’s return engagement, the dynamic Italian pianist Alessio Bax (who played a Harriman-Jewell Series Discovery Concert in 2010) will join him for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening.

A musical giant of our time, Joshua Bell will play a sixth recital for the Harriman-Jewell Series. The violinist's stunning virtuosity, beautiful tone, and charismatic stage presence have brought him universal acclaim. His career has spanned more than 30 years as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and conductor. Bell performs on the 1713 Huberman Stradivarius.

Alessio Bax is a pianist of authority, elegance, and intensity, praised for his lyrical performances and compelling, insightful interpretations. Bax is a First Prize winner at the Leeds International Piano Competition, the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and Lincoln Center’s Martin E. Segal Award. He has appeared as soloist with more than 100 orchestras and has regularly performed in recital with Joshua Bell in recent seasons.
